We investigate the relationship the enterprise has with its environment. We use economic theory as a conceptual and methodological basis for the analysis and study of issues related to the enterprises’ formulation, management and development and the way they interact with their environment. Some examples of questions and/or problems in this area of research are: analysis of the economic fundamentals that explain entrepreneurship, effect of market structures on the production and dissemination of information within a company, or analysis of factors and their effect on the growth and development of a company.
